BOSTON, MA and MANCHESTER, NH (September 3, 2020) – DraftKings Inc. (Nasdaq: DKNG), the New Hampshire Lottery and South Side Tavern today announced the opening of DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester. The second retail sportsbook location to open in the state, DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester, located at 1279 South Willow St. in Manchester, will offer bettors a unique gaming experience at a location that has been voted a top bar and restaurant in the state for three years straight, appearing in the Best of NH Awards category by New Hampshire Magazine.
“Sports betting has already been a big win for New Hampshire and it is exciting that the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings are continuing to expand opportunities to place sports bets, particularly as the NBA and NHL playoffs are heating up,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “New Hampshire is the go-to destination for sports betting in the northeast and the opening of the DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester further increases opportunities to participate at a fun and popular tavern.”

DraftKings Inc.
DraftKings Sportsbook could be on its way to retail and mobile sports betting licenses in New Hampshire, with a chance to launch this NFL season.
The company captured top scores in both segments, edging 12 other operators going for a mobile contract and five others looking for a retail contract.
DraftKings showed its enthusiasm of adding another state to its operations in a statement:
“DraftKings is proud to be selected to offer mobile and retail sports betting in New Hampshire. We look forward to soon providing sports fans in the Granite State with our best-in-class mobile and online Sportsbook product, and welcoming them into our dynamic retail sportsbooks.

“DraftKings will continue to collaborate closely with the New Hampshire Lottery Commission towards our mutual goal of bringing fun, safe and responsible sports betting to New Hampshire.”
Intralot edged out DraftKings in the lottery channel. Intralot supplies the New Hampshire Lottery‘s gaming systems through June 2025.
Kambi and MGM Resorts/GVC joint venture ROAR Digital were both asked to provide pricing information for mobile. ROAR was also invited to providing pricing for retail.
Their proposals fell short of DraftKings Sportsbook, which was the only mobile and retail operator selected for a contract. Intralot was selected on the lottery side.
This might not be the end for the other bidders, however. New Hampshire authorized up to five mobile operators and up to 10 retail sportsbooks.
Final contracts should be approved by Nov. 20.
Pricing proposals for NH
DraftKings would share 51% of sports betting revenue with the state if it becomes the sole mobile operator in the state. ROAR’s 20% offer and Kambi’s 12% offer of net gaming revenue both paled in comparison.
That revenue share drops to 21% if there are two to three mobile operators selected. It drops again to 16% if four to five operators are selected.
No matter how many retail sportsbooks, Boston-based DraftKings pledged 40% of sports betting revenue to be shared. There will be no more than 10 retail sportsbooks, per the law.
Intralot, which will operate Washington, D.C., sports betting, would share 19.25% of sports betting revenue with the state through the lottery.
Live this NFL season?
Gov. Chris Sununutold radio station WEEI earlier this month he’ll be placing a bet on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots before this NFL season is over.
Sununu called into a radio show to talk about how legalizing NH sports betting is a “no-brainer.” He also mentioned he’s been “baffled” by how neighbor Massachusetts has put the brakes on sports betting.
“We’re going gangbusters up here,” he said. “… we’re going to be announcing the first contracts in the next few weeks here.”
Sununu said New Hampshire sports betting should be available by January, though it could be as early as December.
NH sports betting details
Sununu signed H 480 into law in July, placing the state lottery in control of New Hampshire sports betting.
There is no requirement for in-person registration. That means anyone within the state can download an app and begin betting as soon as their identity is verified.
In-play betting is limited to online, however. There’s also no betting on in-state colleges.
Breaking down the proposal scores
DraftKings scored 810 points in the mobile segment and 790 points in the retail segment out of a possible 1,000.
The state provided no breakdown of where bidders missed points. Out of the nine criteria in the request for proposals, the highest-weighted segments included:
- Strength of bidders’ sports betting hardware and software
- Strength of betting services
- Company experience and financial stability.
